I've spent 13 years in fast-paced newsrooms and corporate publishing, as an editor, content strategist, and people manager at some of the UK's biggest media organisations: Bauer Media, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror, and Reach PLC.

​

These were environments where staying quiet as a woman felt safer than standing out. Where softening your message felt necessary. Where the exhausting performance of "professional" never quite felt like authenticity.

I understand the invisible forces that keep talented people stuck:

  • The subtle language patterns that make you shrink

  • The conditioning to be palatable rather than powerful

  • The fear of being "too much" or "not enough"

  • The pattern of making yourself smaller to make others comfortable

I also understand what clear, strategic communication looks like - and what makes it fail.

What I've learned over that decade and then some: Even the best communication strategies fail when leaders lack the confidence to deliver them. You need both. Strong systems and strong people.​​

Why I Do What I Do

After 13 years in corporate communications, I kept seeing the same pattern: brilliant strategies that fell flat because leaders lacked the confidence to deliver them clearly or didn't have the skills to communicate what needed to be done.

​

Messages got messy and diluted. Difficult conversations were avoided. Change communications were non-existent or undermined by reactive leadership. I realised that communication and confidence were inseparable. You can't fix one without addressing the other.

​

And when I trained as a Level 5 professional coach, it wasn't to leave communications behind, but to complete the bigger picture. When I started to see leaders gain the confidence and authority to deliver clear messages and create psychological safety for their teams; communication strategies began to improve.

​

So I left my corporate role to establish this integrated approach for more businesses, starting locally in Manchester, I work with teams that need both strategic communications expertise and leadership development, without necessarily hiring full-time.

​

Now, as the founder of a Black-owned, female-led business based in Manchester, I help businesses who are ready to invest in communicating with clarity, leading with confidence, and building cultures where people thrive.

I'm not just a coach who's read about corporate life. I've lived it for 13 years at the highest levels of UK media. I understand business strategy, organisational culture, and human behaviour.

As a Black woman from the north of the UK who's navigated predominantly white, male-dominated industries, I understand the specific pressures, micro-aggressions, and invisible labour that women (particularly women of colour) carry in professional spaces.
